A large contingent of parishioners at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in rural Iowa have formally called out their pastor, Fr. Dave Goodson, with a filial letter of correction. A total of sixty-two parishioners signed the formal letter last Friday. What was the reason for this correction? “We've finally had enough,” said parishioner, Mary Dover, “I mean, he had fifteen extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion on a Sunday Mass where there were only fifty parishioners present. That means that thirty percent of the congregation was distributing the Eucharist.”
The official complaint in the letter was recorded as a “ridiculous number of extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.” Fr. Dave was unavailable for comment.
