Some historians now believe that one of the Apostles was blinded by the refulgent light of Christ during the transfiguration due to faulty glasses. Drew Jacobs of the Society of Historians Informed by Technology thinks that it was most likely St. Peter who was blinded by the light. "Let's face it, Peter was not too aware of what was really happening most of the time that Jesus was discipling him," said Jacobs. "In addition, we know that there were many knock-off products being sold right outside the temple at this point in History."
The Vatican declined to comment on the legitimacy of Jacobs' claim, but they did say they would look into the matter as soon as they figure out their stance on Medjugorje.
