OCP TRANSLATES CONTEMPORARY HYMNS INTO LATIN

June 29, 2017

In the upcoming fourth edition of their "Glory and Praise" hymnal, Oregon Catholic Press makes a bold statement by translating all the classics into Latin in an attempt to reach out to those who enjoy a more traditional liturgy. "We're calling it 'Gloria et Laudia' and you can expect it to be out sometime next year," said Dave Richards, Director of Millennial Outreach for OCP. "We know that a lot of younger Catholics are getting back into Latin and we really want to show them that we definitely hear their concerns when it comes to liturgical music."

While there is no hard release date yet, here is a list of some of the songs that will be translated in the fourth edition:

Unus Panis Unum Corpus

One Bread, One Body

In Aquilarum Alas

On Eagles Wings

Memoramus

We Remember

De Civitate Dei

City of God

Cantate Nova Ecclesia

Sing a New Church
